Teaching/training

"If you can't get the little things right, nobody will trust you with the big things." -- Cynthia Brouse

Do you:

  • find your staff writing jargon-filled, wordy letters, e-mails and reports?
  • feel concern about the accuracy of the print documents and Web pages going out of your office?
  • worry that you're not catching spelling, grammar and punctuation errors that could undermine your credibility?
  • have trouble communicating with your graphic designer or Mac artist about textual problems?
  • wonder whether those little squiggly marks that proofreaders make might simplify and clarify your copy flow?
  • employ editorial interns who need training in copy editing and fact-checking for magazines?

Testimonials

"Your proofreading seminar has literally worked miracles. Our problems with fussy proofreading errors have significantly declined! All of the associates and the admin staff you trained are using a consistent approach and being very diligent. Bringing you in was an excellent investment. You were able to customize your content for our industry and had an engaging presentation style."
- Cheryl Ferguson of marketing consultant firm The Daggerwing Group, Mississauga, Ontario

"Your expertise is invaluable. The staff felt [Cynthia's copy-editing workshop] was something we should have done long ago."
- Linda Leigh, Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief, The Salvation Army, Toronto
